i worked very hard.
thursday i drove to lubbock with Michelle, my boss' wife. we arrived a half hour later than scheduled. we went strait to a meeting where i presented information on the importance of accoutability in a shared-stock situation, an example of opening and closing duties, and a large segment on how to be an effective salesperson. the ladies of lubbock said that they loved it. i felt proud.
that night we all showed up to the lubbock mall at 9:30 pm to set up the kiosk. we were there until 2 am. but, i learned valuable experience on how to set up the kiosk that should help me cut down the time we use to set up our kiosk here in ridgmar.
after 5 hours of sleep, we awoke on friday and headed off to the mall to work. Michelle still had to fine tune all of the point of sale hardware and software and teach the lubbock ladies how to work it all too. i was supposed to help get as many treatments done as possible to turn a good opening weekend profit.
by dinner time we had done 6 treatments. my boss called from dallas to see how we were doing. he said that if the kiosk did 20 or 30 treatments that weekend, he thought that would be sufficient. i figured 20 was possible, but 30 was going to be a stretch.
saturday morning Michelle picked up her husband (my boss) at the airport before they came to pick me up and we three went back to the mall to try to squeeze out at least 10 treatments by the end of the day. by the time i left at almost 5 we had had the traffic pick up a lot and had done quite a few treatments in a row. we might have hit our 10, but we didn't keep count. whether or not we hit our goal, my feet were tired and i needed to get packed. i was dropped off at the hotel to pack up before i was shuttled to the airport to fly to love field. i walked through my front door to a very happy husband at 10 pm on saturday.
on sunday around 4 pm i got a call from my boss (still in lubbock) and he told me that in they now had people standing in lines waiting for chairs to open. in the three days they had been open they had already done 50 treatments. word of mouth had spread like wildfire, and business was booming in lubbock.
he thanked me profusely for my contributions to the success.
hopefully we do so well this weekend in fort worth.
