Learning good lessons in our meeting with Gary Henry. Try to listen to someone from the pulpit (or not) with more wisdon and understanding than yourself. It'll do you good. Can't wait for another lesson...gotta run.
Shine Like the Lord meant you to shine.
He is a great preacher. I've heard him before. I had planned on coming last night but it completely slipped my mind. Hate I missed hearing him. Hope all is well for all of you.
thanks for...visiting with me, worshipping at a congregation close enough for me to visit, raising a wonderful daughter, raising other wonderful "daughters" and "sons"...and stuff. :)
We enjoyed the visit, and yes, we will plan to stay longer to visit friends and family! Of course, I'm thinking we have out there quite a few times, even BJ (before Josh), and I'm still waiting for you all to come down the road! :)
"A few days ago I walked along the edge of the lake and was treated to the crunch and rustle of leaves with each step I made. The acoustics of this season are different and all sounds, no matter how hushed, are as crisp as autumn air. "
I don't remember who said this but isn't it great! Stop and listen ...there is so much beauty all around us and only a part of it is seen with our eyes.
hey girl, I enjoyed Saturday afternoon! I sent you an email. The sounds we have at our house, are lots of leaves and lots of acrons crunching on the sidewalk as we walk!
Monday, lots of leaves have made a racket falling to the ground. Acorns make a racket bouncing off the car and awnings at all hours. All part of Fall. Leaves and acorns fall in the Fall.
I miss you too:( I havn't been seeing any of my friends lately and I miss that. I feel depressed and overwhelmed so I think I need to get out of the house one evening...don't you???:) hint hint
You're getting much done to help facilitate much good! As always ;)
I would love love to come sit at your table. Oh how I'd enjoy a good fresh salad! We do miss the cheeses, and cream soups of so many north American type recipes. We crave the healthy stuff, huh?
D has a little project that he needs to photograph for... he's considering using the rich colors of your walls and linens as background...
he just might snap a couple of those when we come by.
We're headed to visit brethren in Piedra Parada ("standing rock") today. Neat little palce tucked in the green piney hills, always ensconced in cloud. The foot path to the meeting place is positively treacherous. D's wiped out on it, in dress clothes. Always fun :)
Ms. Jamie! I am so sorry! We were the last ones to leave and then we weren't sure if you were expecting us or not so we didn't want to show up to you house so late.
I am home not feeling well tonight and wondering what is going on in my K-1st grade class. Wednesdays were just made for Bible class. Everything from rushing dinner around to making sure everything is ready for the evening makes it Wednesday. An older lady in our congregation told this story from her beauty salon recently. "I was asked, 'What do y'all have going on down there at your church? There is not an open parking spot in that lot on Wednesday nights.'To that, I just plainly said, Bible class, that is all, Bible class." Unthinkable as it was, those ladies had to accept that the Lord's Word was what was "going on" on a regular, everyday, Wednesday evening. We are so blessed.
Let your light so shine.
In my 1st-3rd grade class tonight, we studied Sodom and Gomorroh (I was very delicate). Half way through the story, one little boy looking very sad raised his hand and said. "President Obama thinks its okay for men to marry men and for women to kill their babies." A hush kinda fell over the classroom. I thought the little boy was going to cry. I told him that wasn't what God wanted and that we needed to pray that Mr. Obama would change his mind. So we did.
We stopped right then and prayed for him to be a good President that would decide to do what God wanted him to do. I was happy to get back to pillars of salt....
To be very honest, the child isn't in need of anything! We have been SOOOO abundantly blessed! I am sure there will be things we need after she is born, but as far as I can tell there isn't anything right now! I've told many of people, "This child isn't even here yet and she is already one of the most blessed and loved children I know!"
The Winnie the Pooh of today is not the same Winnie from days of yore! :) Now, Pooh has a club with Tigger and Darby (some relative of Christopher Robin's) and every day they have a mystery to solve, hence the ? on the suit, and they call themselves the "Super Sleuth's" and they look for clue in the 100 acre wood to solve the mystery. I am sure this information will greatly benefit you someday in the future! :)
